Over 60 artists vibrantly explore the transformative theme of ‘Wildness’ across ten venues throughout Amsterdam.
Amsterdam, April 2025 — FIBER Festival proudly announces the full line-up for its 10th anniversary edition, taking place May 29 – June 1, 2025 in Amsterdam. Among the new names added to the programme are glitch-ambient pioneer Fennesz, Christina Vantzou with John Also Bennett and renowned thinker and writer Stacy Alaimo. To mark a decade of radical artistic exploration between digital culture and experimental music, this milestone edition brings together over 60 artists, performers, researchers, DJs and audiovisual acts across ten venues with a boundary-pushing programme shaped by the theme Wildness.
“For the anniversary edition, FIBER presents an incredibly diverse programme: composed of multidisciplinary art forms, ranging from urgent new voices to genre-defying pioneers."
This year, FIBER explores Wildness as both a necessity and a possibility. Inspired by the call for a rewilding of our living spaces and belief systems as a strategy to push back the effects of a warming planet and to (re)create space for life to flourish in its most diverse potential, the festival asks:
What is wildness? Which artistic, musical and research practices address it? And perhaps more importantly: how can we practise or inhabit wildness ourselves?
The artistic programme consists of a wide selection of activities, including several concert nights, two club nights with Garage Noord and Dusty Cabinets, and a two-day lecture programme bringing together artists and scientists around pressing, technological and ecological issues. This will include topics such as climate change, the rewilding of artificial intelligence and the role of audiovisual culture as a powerful, cultural storyteller.
As FIBER looks back on ten years of growth, this theme also prompts reflection on how to rewild ourselves in the years to come. Culturally, ecologically, and imaginatively. Giving a platform to cross-pollinations that arise across the boundaries of electronic music and performance art, such as connections with sound art, coding, instrument development, theatre and choreography. In doing so, the festival acts as a meeting place for audiences, artists, DJs and performing artists collaborating with other disciplines and science.
Jenny Hval presents Iris Silver Mist (Live) – Dutch Premiere
Norwegian musician and writer Jenny Hval presents the Dutch premiere of her performance Iris Silver Mist on 30/5, at Muziekgebouw. Inspired by scent rather than sound, this project explores intimacy, absence, and transformation.
Sara Persico & Mika Oki present Sphaîra (Live A/V) – Dutch Premiere
During this year's Festival, Sara Persico will debut her latest album Sphaîra for the first time in the Netherlands, accompanied by a mesmerizing light scenography by visual artist Mika Oki. Based on recordings from an abandoned dome in Tripoli, Lebanon, the performance channels the site's chaotic echoes and war-torn history.
Vica Pacheco presents ÉCLIPSIS (Performance) – Dutch Premiere
How can we celebrate both light and darkness? During ÉCLIPSIS, Vica Pacheco will orchestrate a choreographic musical score that invites the audience on an emotional sonic journey. Dance and installation art blend together.
Navid Navab presents Organism: In Turbulence (Performance)
What happens when you unleash wild and chaotic processes on a traditional organ? Montreal-based artist Navid Navab deconstructs and reimagines a 1910 Casavant pipe organ, transforming it into a living acoustic entity. In this improvised solo performance, he explores turbulent thresholds, unstable timbres, and intricate sonic self-organisation—an evocative meditation on structure and entropy.
Flesh Reversal is about putting an end to shame and celebrating growth, even through the darkest of times. During FIBER Festival, Acidic Male will debut her new album for the audience at Garage Noord.
de Brakke Grond, Muziekgebouw, BIMHUIS, Orgelpark, Garage Noord, Contactweg, 4 DSOUND Studio, De Sering, Goethe-Institut, Bar San Francisco.
