Close to 60 artists and numerous multi-sensory art & music projects will explore the concept of fragility
Amsterdam-based FIBER Festival is pleased to announce the full line-up for its 2026 edition, featuring close to 60 artists, performers and speakers exploring digital culture, experimental music and multi-sensory experiences under the theme Fragile Forces. At a time when hard power, militarization, and war leave us breakable and vulnerable, the 2026 theme explores ‘fragility’ as a source of collective strength. Not as a weakness. Fragile Forces highlights that concepts such as fragility, slowness, sensitivity and softness are powerful, alluring forces.
For the final release, FIBER Festival is adding 20 new names to the lineup, thereby completing the festival programme. The new additions include live sets, performances, DJ sets, symposium talks and film screenings. Special projects include the debut of Crawler (a new collaboration between Zohar and Castle) ft. Gervaise, who invite the audience to an experimental listening space, and a new installation by Aldo Brinkhoff, commissioned by FIBER Festival.
The extended night at TILLATEC spanning 11 hours of audiovisual performance, live and DJ sets is also completed. Minimal Collective joins to host Switchroom, presenting Polar Inertia (live), a revered multidisciplinary electronic music project, a hypnotic b2b DJ set by Brent Jacko & Okgwa, and a psychedelic DJ set by Emily Jeanne. Gracing other stages are Simo Cell & gyrofield, both known to redefine contemporary club sounds, the physical, high-tension set by NVST, and a destabilizing performance by Charlène Dannancier about power, consent, and limits. The scenography of TILLATEC is tied together by interdisciplinary visual artists Tharim Cornelisse & Annelieke Rovers, who are creating a new artwork that merges hi-tech LED visuals with stained glass.
The programme at Sound Art Sunday, dedicated to experimental sound performances, is expanded by two newly announced performances: Anaïs Lossouarn plays two stone harps in the performance What holds of the living, and Hannah Todt performs One And Many Flutes; a large-scale flute-sculpture played by 5 scattered performers.
In addition, FIBER Festival announces the exhibition opening afterparty ahead of FIBER Festival, which takes place on 22 May at Bar San Francisco, with DJ sets by Marijn S, DOC and Yag0. The exhibition opening starts at 19:00 at de Brakke Grond.
Also finalized is the programme of the two-day symposium, with two panels co-curated by Resident Advisor. Newly announced speakers include LNR, Woody92, Loma Doom, Nicolas Geysens (Ambrio), Jan Rohlf (CTM Festival) and Katažyna Jankovska. The symposium is complemented by a screening of Horizons of Disappearance, a film by Vartan Markarian.
The programme is packed with special collaborations, audiovisual premieres, and unique interdisciplinary art projects by emerging artists and the vanguard of experimental electronic music. Everything takes place in response to distinct venues such as the transformed, majestic church Orgelpark, club Garage Noord, and the internationally renowned jazz-venue BIMHUIS, and includes an 11-hour performance & club programme at TILLATEC.
The festival is a meeting place for enthusiasts, newcomers, and professionals who are eager to explore contemporary and futuristic fusions between visual art, digital culture, technological developments, and sound. During the daytime symposium programme, artists will share their inspiring and critical perspectives on urgent ecological and sociocultural themes. In the evenings and at night, art and music come to life through sensory performances, DJ sets, and live performances.

Under the festival theme Fragile Forces, FIBER presents two interconnected exhibition parts under one roof at de Brakke Grond: Fragile Resonances and Fragile Terrains. They function as two chapters, each inviting us in its own way to reflect on the concept of ‘fragility’ as a strength, rather than a weakness. The first through sound art and ways of listening, the second through the vibrancy of matter.
Spread across Friday 29 May and Saturday 30 May at de Brakke Grond, the two-day symposium acts as a lively meeting place for thinkers, artistic makers, and anyone seeking ways to approach urgent cultural and societal questions. The programme features artist talks, critical reflections, and discussions rooted in artistic creation and research, connecting the various threads of Fragile Forces.
