FIBER presenteert: Coded Matter(s) – 10/09, De Brakke Grond

Op dinsdag 10 september presenteert FIBER de eerste editie van "Coded Matter(s)" in samenwerking met Vlaams Cultuurhuis De Brakke Grond. De Coded Matter(s) events onderzoeken de invloed én explosie van digitale processen binnen kunst, design en muziek. In de eerste twee dynamische programma’s met talks, showcases en performances vertonen makers de onbegrensde mogelijkheden die geprogrammeerde technologie, media en creative coding platforms.

FIBER presents: Coded Matter(s) – 10/09, De Brakke Grond

On Tuesday September 10, FIBER presents the first edition of “Coded Matter(s)”, together with Flemish Art Centre De Brakke Grond (Amsterdam). Coded Matter(s) is a new series of events exploring the explosion of digital processes taking place in hybrid art, design and music and the ripples this causes. During these events artists, designers, musicians and other creatives will demonstrate the limitless possibilities offered by digital systems and creative coding platforms.

BRING YOUR OWN BEAMER – 14/12, NUtrecht

Verzamel alle beamers die je te pakken kunt krijgen om gedurende één nacht een lege ruimte om te toveren tot een overweldigende expositie. Op vrijdagavond 14 december bundelen SETUP, Liefhebber en FIBER hun krachten voor een gezamenlijke Bring Your Own Beamer. De samenwerking vindt plaats in de prachtige oude industriële hangar ‘NUtrecht’ aan de Cartesiusweg te Utrecht. Eenieder is uitgenodigd zijn of haar eigen werk te tonen in deze compleet nieuwe omgeving en context.

BRING YOUR OWN BEAMER – 14/12, NUtrecht

One night and one space to use all the beamers you can get your hands on in order to transform an empty space into an exhibition like you've never experienced before. Friday December 14th, SETUP, Liefhebber and FIBER will join forces to organise an extra large edition of ‘Bring Your Own Beamer’. Everyone is invited to put any kind of video work up for display in this new context and scenery. This collaboration will take place in the old and beautiful industrial hangar ‘NUtrecht’.

(Im)possible Worlds, expositie, 23/08 – 28/09

Het Amsterdamse audiovisuele netwerk festival FIBER is door het Nederlands Instituut voor Mediakunst (NIMk) uitgenodigd, om een tentoonstelling samen te stellen die de laatste artistieke ontwikkelingen representeert binnen hun netwerk van opkomende kunstenaars en ontwerpers. De tentoonstelling '(Im)possible Worlds' vindt plaats van 23 augustus tot 28 september op Platform 2. Op donderdagavond 23 augustus wordt '(Im)possible Worlds' geopend met een audiovisueel programma.

FIBER at One Of These Days festival, December 8th & 9th 2012

Audiovisual network festival FIBER will participate in “One Of These Days”; a brand new ‘festival of festivals’, which will take place in Blackpool on 8 & 9 December 2012. A total of 16 European festivals will present a specialised programme on various stages over a period of two days and nights. FIBER will be presenting a selection of Dutch upcoming talents in digital arts, right beside renowned international artists. FIBER’s share of the festivities will take place on Sunday, December 9th.

Audiovisueel netwerk festival FIBER neemt deel aan “One Of These Days”; een nieuw ‘festival der festivals’, dat plaats zal vinden te Blackpool (UK) op 8 & 9 december 2012. In totaal zullen 16 Europese festivals een speciaal programma presenteren, verspreid over verschillende stages en een periode van twee dagen en nachten. FIBER zal een selectie van aanstormend Nederlands talent en internationale artiesten presenteren. FIBER’s aandeel in de festiviteiten zal plaatsvinden op zondag 9 december.

OVER FIBER

FIBER is an Amsterdam based interdisciplinary organisation, that presents new developments in audiovisual art, digital culture and the experimental and deeper corners of electronic music. The team works year round with a vibrant network of artists, designers, researchers and developers, who aspire to introduce mind bending experiences to a broad audience. Special attention goes out to the support of up and coming talents across numerous creative disciplines.

Next to small-scale events and exhibitions, the team organises the recurring FIBER Festival in Amsterdam, which brings together a diverse crowd of new talent, established artists and curious visitors. FIBER aims to explore hybrid forms of art, the power of media- and network technology, and encourages an exchange of views between the makers and their audience.
